About Us

Our business is based in the Scottish Borders, and all of our products are handcrafted there, using local materials wherever possible.  We source all our elm wood in Scotland, as well as the vast majority of our bovine, ostrich and deer hides.  A Yorkshire engineering firm provides the brass and polished stainless steel nozzles.

We are committed to carrying on the traditional skills associated with this craft.

Ruth Devlin, owner, explains the beginnings of her bellows business:

"The original bellows business was started 30 years ago by my Uncle John Jones, who was an extremely talented craftsman and a great character. He lived and worked in Wiltshire and could often be seen out and about at local craft fairs.  He passed away several years ago, and I took over the business having been in a similar trade as a traditional upholsterer."

Devlin Jones Fire Bellows also provides a full quality repair service. Your bellows which may have been in the family for generations can have a complete facelift! The wood can be sanded and re-polished or waxed, new leather applied, and nozzles polished.  We have completed many repairs for delighted customers who can't believe the transformation from a tired dusty old set of bellows to a functional and attractive fireside showpiece.

We are delighted to undertake commissions, prices may vary, so please contact us for a quotation.
